At times, we all notice that the strategies that once helped us cope no longer feel sufficient. You may feel stuck in patterns of stress, withdrawal, over-control, or simply pushing through, even when something inside knows change is needed. Perhaps you are functioning well outwardly but privately feel disconnected, frustrated, or unsure of who you are beneath the roles you perform.
My work is for anyone seeking to understand these patterns and create meaningful, reflective change. Together, we explore how experiences from the past shape your present, and discover ways to live with greater clarity, confidence, and authenticity. With a background in rugby and working with people from performance-driven environments, I understand the pressures of identity, discipline, and expectation that many carry.
Therapy with me is collaborative, grounded, and relational, a space where you donât have to perform or justify yourself, and can explore experiences openly, at your own pace. I work with clients at the Wellness Hub in Falmouth, Cornwall, and online throughout the UK.
I work using Transactional Analysis, an evidence-informed talking therapy that helps you reflect on how past experiences shape your current patterns. Together, we gently examine these influences and explore ways to make meaningful changes that feel authentic and sustainable.
My approach is relational and reflective, supporting you to build awareness, insight, and practical strategies for living with more confidence, balance, and fulfilment. Whether your goals involve improving relationships, managing stress, understanding yourself more deeply, or navigating life transitions, therapy is tailored to your needs.

Who I work with:
Adults/Individuals/Couples
I've journeyed through life like many of you, experiencing the ebbs and flows of relationships. Whether they're with family, friends, or partners, these relationships weave into the fabric of our lives, shaping who we are, how we feel, and how we interact with the world.
After personally feeling the transformational power of therapy, I was inspired to retrain as a Therapist. Today, I'm here to offer that same opportunity for change and growth to you.
I create a safe, welcoming space for adults and couples, whether you need a quick chat to navigate a tough situation or an ongoing conversation to dig a little deeper into the roots of your feelings. My mission is to help you feel not just better, but empoweredâready to embrace life's rollercoaster with resilience and self-confidence.
Perhaps you're facing a specific hurdle, like a hiccup at work or a glitch in your relationship. In that case, we could explore counselingâa shorter journey focused on resolving your immediate challenges.
Or maybe you're yearning to understand yourself on a deeper level, looking to connect the dots between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Then, we could embark on a longer voyage with Psychotherapeutic work. Together, we'll untangle the threads of your childhood experiences and how they echo in your present.
My speciality lies in helping you heal from the scars of childhood trauma, navigate through the stormy waters of loss and grief, manage the dark clouds of anxiety and depression, and smooth out relationship wrinkles. I use a mix of therapeutic approaches, including Transactional Analysis (TA), a powerful method that peels back the layers of our psyche, all the way back to our childhood. If needed, I also weave in elements from other modalities to make sure our journey together truly meets your needs.

Who I work with:
Adults (18+)
I am a Transactional Analysis psychotherapist with a trauma-informed and integrative approach. My work combines TA psychotherapy with EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and polyvagal theory, allowing me to address both the psychological and physiological aspects of trauma and stress.
I have a particular interest in working with high-performance clients, including those from military, veteran, elite sport, and leadership backgrounds. Many of the people I work with are highly capable, responsible, and resilient, yet find that long-standing survival strategies no longer serve them. Therapy often involves helping clients understand how early script decisions, ego-state dynamics, and nervous system adaptations continue to shape their current patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating.
My practice is relational, structured, and collaborative. I place strong emphasis on safety, pacing, and nervous system regulation, recognising that meaningful change requires both stabilisation and deeper psychological integration. EMDR is offered when clinically appropriate and only after adequate preparation, ensuring clients remain within their window of tolerance throughout the work.
I aim to provide a thoughtful and boundaried therapeutic space where clients can move beyond survival-based functioning towards greater autonomy, emotional flexibility, and authentic choice in their lives.

I am a Certified Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist (CTA-P) and a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy (PTSTA-P). I have been in private practice since 2014 and currently work online with adult clients.
I offer both open-ended and time-limited psychotherapy, with the length of work agreed collaboratively according to need. My practice is relational and grounded in Transactional Analysis, with attention to the co-created therapeutic relationship.

I am a Leeds-based therapist, and I offer sessions online, or face-to-face in Leeds. I have experience working in both long and short term therapy contracts. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation for people considering beginning their therapeutic journey with me. To get in touch please email helenatherapy@hotmail.com. I am passionate about transactional analysis psychotherapy, having experienced first-hand the profound and meaningful impact it can have on your life. My training, personal therapy, and clinical supervision, have provided space for me to understand myself, improve my relationships, and facilitate change. In turn, as a psychotherapist I strive to work with the individual to explore themselves, their history, and their emotional landscape. My commitment to working in an empowering and respectful way seeks to honour each individual's journey and process. I am curious about how our past impacts our present, and how we can explore this together in a relational and collaborative way in therapy. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, sexual violence, relationships, family dynamics, gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, and grief. Outside of my role as a therapist I work for a small charity that supports women and girls who have experienced sexual violence. I am passionate about social justice with particular commitment to womensâ rights, trans rights and anti-racism. My work and passions inform how I work as a psychotherapist, and I am ever-curious about intersectionality and power in the therapeutic space. I also enjoy and take solace in tarot, film, and walking through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Therapy for people living visible lives under invisible pressure.
It begins with "Helloâ, but what do you say after Hello? It's the start of a conversation. A moment in time to untangle, reflect, and rediscover what matters. There is no script, and no expectation to perform. I work with people who are often seen, relied upon, or expected to hold things together â creatives, performers, and LGBTQ+ adults whose inner worlds donât always have space elsewhere. This is a place for honesty rather than polish, curiosity rather than fixing. If you feel ready to begin, we can start with a simple conversation.
Iâm JJ Almond. I work with people who live visible, expressive lives but carry pressure that isnât always seen.
Many of the people who find their way to me are executives, creatives, performers, and LGBTQ+ professionals â people who are emotionally aware, capable, and often outwardly confident, yet privately wrestling with self-doubt, burnout, or a sense of disconnection. You might be used to showing up for others, holding things together, or performing a version of yourself that works, while not having much space to explore how you actually feel. I work online with clients across the UK.
Therapy with me is a place where you donât need to explain yourself or get it ârightâ. Our work is reflective rather than performative, curious rather than clinical, and paced in a way that allows things to unfold without pressure. Iâm interested in understanding the patterns that shape your relationships, creativity, and sense of self â and in creating a space where something more honest can emerge.
If this resonates, we can begin with a brief introductory conversation to see whether working together feels right.

Who I work with:
Adults, couples
I specialise in working with women and couples navigating periods of change, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm.
Life transitions can quietly unsettle everything; relationships, identity, confidence, and your sense of self. You might be feeling anxious, stuck, disconnected, or carrying the weight of a difficult childhood into adult life.
For some, this shows up in motherhood; for others, in relationships, work, or a persistent sense that something isnât quite right.
You donât have to manage it alone.
Since 2022, Iâve worked primarily in the voluntary sector, supporting unpaid carers, alongside many years of experience working with autistic children, adults, and their families. This work has shaped how I practice, with sensitivity to trauma, nervous system overwhelm, and the long-term impact of growing up without feeling fully seen or safe.
At the heart of my work is creating a space where you can slow down and be met without judgement or expectation. A place to untangle what feels heavy, understand the patterns that keep repeating, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside.
My approach is relational, thoughtful, and down-to-earth. Using Transactional Analysis, we explore how your early experiences shape the way you think, feel, and relate, to yourself and to others. Whether youâre coming alone or as a couple, our work is about building awareness, strengthening emotional safety, and supporting meaningful change.
Therapy with me isnât about fixing you. Itâs about helping you make sense of your story, so you can move forward with more clarity, steadiness, and self-compassion.
