As a psychotherapist with an MA in Autism, and numerous awards for my work with neurodivergent people, I mainly work with people who have had a autism late-diagnosis, including women misdiagnosed with an emotionally unstable personality 'disorder', who discover they are autistic. I intensely dislike the concept of 'disordered' and work with my clients to unravel their brilliance and struggles from a life position of "I'm-OK, You're-OK". In-session we explore what it means to be autistic, including masking, sensory processing differences, disordered eating, co-occurring conditions, communication approaches and so much more. I have an in-depth understanding of the Family Courts, Special Education and Disability Tribunals, and Social Care. MY APPROACH I am Transactional Analysis trained but have interests in many other approaches and tailor my approach to suit the client/supervisee. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is fundamental to change and work in a relational manner. I am a UKCP accredited Relational Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist. I offer open-ended, long-term psychotherapy and time-limited, short-term counselling. I work within a secure, confidential, non-judgmental and empathic environment. I hold the post graduate Diploma in TA Psychotherapy and I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and current CTA Trainee in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. Hello, I’m Andrea, I’m a UKCP registered psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst based in Benenden in Kent. I work with individuals aged 16 and above and I specialise primarily in helping people with anxiety and depression. One of the things I love most about TA is the wide variety of models and concepts it offers to help us think about our relationships with ourselves and others. I may sometimes bring these into our work together, where we agree it would be beneficial, particularly if you are a trainee looking to apply TA theory to your own experience. However, overall, I work ‘relationally’, which means that I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the change process. By paying close attention to what happens between us in the therapy room, we have a real, live opportunity to explore how unconscious, outdated patterns may be playing out for you in the present and to create new opportunities for healing and growth. I offer face-to-face appointments from my consulting room in Benenden, in addition to online sessions.

I am based in my home in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire and offer both face-to-face and online sessions. I work with individuals and couples. I work from a Classical TA perspective with elements from the Integrative School.
